University of York

The Department of Archaeology, University of York, hosts my project. During the project I will be based at the PalaeoHub, a new facility that supports material culture research, including a state of the art microscopy lab.

YEAR Centre

The York Experimental Archaeology Research (YEAR) Centre supports the experimental archaeological work associated with the project. This includes a dedicated outdoor experimental lab to carry out experiments.

Dr Aimée Little

Aimée is a specialist in Mesolithic archaeology and microwear analysis of stone tools. She provides mentorship and training in microwear analysis, collaborating on papers relating to microwear and experimental archaeology.

Professor Nicky Milner

Nicky is a specialist in Mesolithic archaeology and provides mentorship and expert advice on the Mesolithic of Britain and the site of Star Carr, collaborating on papers related ot the site.

Dr Chantal Conneller

Chantal is a specialist in Palaeolithic and Mesolithic archaeology and stone tools. She provides expert advice on Star Carr and other apsects of the Mesolithic, collaborating on papers relating to personal ornaments.

Jess Bates

Jess is a PhD student specialising in Mesolithic archaeology and microwear analysis of stone tools, collaborating on papers related to Star Carr, microwear, and spatial analysis.

Dr Josie Mills

Josie is a specialist in Palaeolithic archaeology and the provenancing of stone tools. Josie is collaborating on the provenancing of materials used in the production of Mesolithic beads in Britain.

Gwendoline Pepper

Gwendoline is a PhD student specialising in experimental archaeology and plants, sepcifcally historic silk production. Greta is collaborating on the production of string that might be used in wearing or attaching beads.
