Hafting

It is not clear in all cases if the awls used to make beads were hafted or unhafted and if this creates different types and rates of wear on tools. The photographs document an early experiment drilling shale with a hafted awl, allowing for rapid rotation. This allowed for further nuance in the reference collection of tools created.
